Clara Wu is a seven-year-old girl living with a traveling carnival
making its way through the heartland of 1930s America. Living her life
“behind the scenes”, Clara can’t help but be jaded towards the
supposed wonders of the circus freaks. Her mother, a fortuneteller, is
not psychic; the strongman lifts weights made of foam and wood… But
when Jamie “The Human Inferno” LaRusso saves the carnival from being
robbed by gangsters, Clara finds that sometimes things are *exactly*
as they seem.
